ABOUT

Land%20Tech%20Logo%20FA.jpg
We are a family run business, based in the Bozeman/ Livingston, MT area.
The surrounding mountains, rivers and trails have provided our family with recreation and professional opportunities for generations. We are grateful for what Montana has provided for us, and give back by donating work, cleaning up recreational sites, and by generally being the best stewards we can be.

One of the greatest parts of this business is the people we have the opportunity to work and interact with. From our enthusiastic and talented employees and subcontractors, our partners and clients such as the dedicated staff at local land trusts and USDA Forest Service, and service and materials providers, we have been fortunate to work alongside the best in the industry. Working outdoors and especially in the mountains seems to attract a special type of people; those who are passionate about their work, value where they live and appreciate the opportunities the outdoors provides. No matter their role, all of our partners understand the importance that trails and greenways have in creating access, promoting well-being, and building community. No business exists in a bubble, and we are grateful for all of our relationships within the community and beyond, many of whom have become friends as well.

He is an expert equipment operator, trail designer, and a licensed blaster. He has been the owner and president since taking the reins when the previous owner, and master trail builder, Terry Johnson retired. Previously, Zac has worked as an outdoor guide and in various capacities in the construction and landscaping fields. During college he worked as assistant to the director of the Outdoor Recreation Department at Montana State University, leading group outdoor adventures, repairing equipment and guiding raft trips. After forays in the departments of Biology, Art, and Fish and Wildlife Management, he earned a degree in English literature. If he isn't working in the field or tinkering in the shop, he enjoys messing about in boats, traveling, and trying to find out what's making that noise...
